The Forest Bioeconomy Showcase offers a new perspective on the entire forest bioeconomy by shedding light on its various aspects. The examination includes forests and wood as a source of Finnish industry and economic well-being, the health benefits of forests, forest biodiversity, and climate change. Concrete content can be explored at the Punkaharju Research Park and the Finnish Forest Museum, Lusto, as well as virtually at forestbioeconomy.fi. metsabiotalous.fi:ssä
The Forest Bioeconomy Showcase is being developed under the leadership of the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) in collaboration with the Finnish Forest Museum Lusto, Metsähallitus, the Finnish Forest Centre, the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), and the Savonlinna Summer University.
Thanks to multidisciplinary expertise, the information provided by the showcase is suitable for experts, decision-makers, the media, education, as well as for tourism and recreation. The content also provides answers to a wide range of questions: How does forest breeding affect forest growth? What is the role of forests in the carbon cycle? What new products can be made from wood? And what kind of learning about forest management can be gained from a virtual forest?
Access to information and experiences is not limited to one channel or place:
